Each year Peninsula Petroleum funds a number of local and international charities through our charitable foundation. Our team help us decide which charities we support.
Jubilee Sailing Trust
The JST deliver their mission aboard two very special tall ships, STS Lord Nelson and SV Tenacious. They are the only tall ships in the world designed and built so they can be sailed by a truly mixed ability crew, including people with a wide variety of impairments and health conditions.
“Jubilee Sailing Trust, on behalf of the 23,703 beneficiaries who have experienced a life-transforming sailing experience with us over the term of Peninsula’s 10 years of support, would like to extend a huge ‘thank you’.”
— Peter Mitchell, Commercial Director / Pacific Regional Manager, Jubilee Sailing Trust
The Mission to Seafarers
Around the world, The Mission to Seafarers provides help and support to the 1.5 million men and women who face danger every day to keep our global economy afloat.
The Mission to Seafarers work in over 260 ports caring for seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs. Through a global network of chaplains, staff and volunteers they offer practical, emotional and spiritual support to seafarers through ship visits, drop-in centres and a range of welfare and emergency support services.
Piracy, shipwreck, abandonment and separation from loved ones are just a few of the problems merchant seafarers face. In an emergency, the MtS is often the only help on offer. No matter what problem a seafarer is facing, be it injury, abandonment, non-payment of wages or personal difficulties, they know they can turn to the local Mission for help, advice and support.
The Mission to Seafarers was founded in 1856 and is entirely funded by voluntary donations.
